Week 9: Greenie Rank 2

My red/freezing/hot/cold face
Monday, January 18, 2015

'Twas a good week! We, Elder Heiner and I, went to Gary's house (a referral from the Spanish elders) and got to teach 3 others in that sitting about the restoration. The spirit was really thick and we pointed out that was the spirit. It was a good discussion. Their schedules are harsh and unpredictable, so it is going to be hard to set up appointments.

We got into service this week. They are using for missionaries now here. One of the service opportunities has to do with food and we sort and move the food. The person in charge has dealt with LDS missionaries before and had a good experience with them. She is pretty awesome. She asked the ZL if they cam on bike or car, haha.

I drove on Wednesday! It was fun. I was able to drive because I was on exchanges and my temporary company was not allowed to drive. I stayed in the area this time and we found one person to teach that night. (We didn't per se teach him, but we got his contact info to get in touch for a future date.)

Also, on Wednesday (when we drive to Morton for District Meeting) we went to Washington just as we got to the Church building in Morton. So, we drove 20 minutes to Washington and helped the sisters take bolts out of the tire and put a new one on. It was hard due to the cold temperature outside (it was stuck so we kicked it haha). So, we were 50 minutes late to the district meeting, but everyone was there, so yay!

That was the last District Meeting of the transfer, so we had district lunch at Pizza Ranch after the meeting. It was so fulfilling and they had good dessert, as well!

Unfortunately for this week, some of the appointments were cancelled. It's a rough life for me.

For dinner on Thursday, we went to the Houssians (older members in the ward) and they had some really good chocolate pie. Yum! They are an awesome couple who have been on several missions around the world and are really into family history.

Elder Heiner and I went tracting at the college apartments at "The Oaks". Before that, we played a game where we flip through the Book of Mormon, while walking, and stopping at a place to read the chapter heading, then the other elder has to guess where it is (book and chapter). It was fun. I got 2 right! :D Back at The Oaks, let's just say some apartments smelt like Colorado :P and there was a party going on at 3:30 in the afternoon! They party all day at ISU, apparently. Also, one guy wanted to eat his bowl of cereal more than he wanted to talk to us... Okay... Lol.

Also, we froze our faces off on Sunday at night. It was 6 degrees Fahrenheit and the wind chill made it down to -9 degrees Fahrenheit. And, we helped the ZLs bring a couch up 2 stories in that weather. We had to navigate the couch around the corners of the stairway. Anyway, it was fun and I am excited for this week. I am not getting transferred (what a surprise..:P). The only people getting transferred in the district are Elder Webster, Elder Wells and Sister Shephard.

Anyway, have a good week!

Love you all,
