Week 96: 22

Our District from the MTC!

I hit my 22 month mark today!

It was a great week! We had both Zone Conference and Mission Conference this week! Crazy!

We went up to the Mission Home on Friday for my first time since I went there at the beginning of my mission. I slept on the bottom of a bunk bed and no one slept on the top of the bunk bed. So it was a nice sleep.

Elder Renlund came and I got to shake his hand. Haha it was funny because he came just over 2 years ago and the only people who were here for this conference as well as that mission tour were the Griffins and Elder Fry. Lol. Elder Fry had an accident during his mission so he had to go home and recover. Because of that, he goes home after me but he started before me.

Oh and there were like 30 missionaries at the mission home.

Gary and Clarence passed their interview and should be baptized this Sunday--unless they die or something. They both got injured this last week..

We helped move some hay too. That was some work! I was getting super sweaty and tired haha! It was fun, though. I learned I should wear long sleeved shirts if I am doing that.

Oh and we had linger longer (potluck after church) this last Sunday. That was fun. They had a lot of good food!

I don't know if I shared this before, but this is true.

Children Learn What They Live

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find love in the world.

It is interesting to see how things that were restored through Joseph Smith were later found out to be things the early saints in the apostolic time were doing--like the Sacrament.

I definitely know the Restoration truly happened not because of the evidences of scholarly finds, but through the spirit. However it is nice to see that scholars find these things that do link up because it is the truth.

I was also reading about why we use the King James Version of the Bible. There are a lot of reasons. But one thing that is interesting is that some other bibles don't really show how divine Jesus is. However this doesn't mean that other bibles can't help us in understanding a specific scripture.

I truly appreciate the LDS edition of the King James Version because of all the study helps, though.
